OSRBA 2010 YOUTH MANAGEMENT CONTEST

PURPOSE

To acknowledge excellence of management style by OSRBA youth members in the areas of housing and equipment, feeding and animal care, disease control, record keeping, breeding and genetics for the care and production of rabbits and/or cavies and to prepare the Ohio Youth for the ARBA National Convention.

RULES

1. Any OSRBA youth member is eligible to compete. Attendance at the OSRBA Convention is not necessary.

2. Application must be made using the form provided by the OSRBA youth director. This form is available on the OSRBA Youth website.
3. Applications will be judged based on the number of cages/adult animals (division) that a youth member has for housing their animals. There will be 20 points          
     deducted for failure to enter the correct division based on your answers to the questions.

4. Applications are to be composed and completed by the contestant.

6. Up to seven pages, printed on one side only, of information may be submitted by the applicant. There will be 30 points deducted for exceeding this maximum or for

    submitting a form that is not filled out correctly or that is incomplete. Include information needed to complete the answers. Visual aids may be included within this page limitation.

8. Winners will be announced Sunday May 2 nd.  Contestants need not be present to win.
9. Send your original Management Application Direction Form and THREE copies of your answers!

There will be 20 points deducted for not following this rule. Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2010. Forms received after the deadline will have 20 points deducted and forms postmarked after April 10th will be returned.

The following information must be typed, printed or written on your OWN paper (8.5 in. x 11 in.). Fill in the information requested after you have copied each question. Whenever possible questions should be answered in age appropriate narratives. No more than seven (7) pages in addition to this page, are allowed. Use 10-12 point reader friendly fonts with min. margins of 1/2 inch. Include your name and OSRBA membership information at the top of each page.

#1 -Name the breed(s) you raise, how many animals you have in each breed and why you raise these breed(s). Also include breed(s) you have raised in the past and why you no longer raise them.

 

#2 Describe your cages/coops, list the number, size, materials they are made of, and how they are constructed.

 

#3 -Describe where your animals are located: barn, outbuilding, yard, garage, basement, house?
