Ohio State Youth Rabbit Breeders Associations Constitution
Article 1 Title
Sec. 1 The name of this organization shall be the Ohio State Youth Rabbit Breeders Association and shall hereafter be known as the OSYRBA.
Article 2 Membership
Sec. 1 Membership is open to all youth who are under the age of 19.
Sec. 2 Membership is by application and payment of dues or membership through an OSRBA member club.
Article 3 Purpose
Sec. 1 The purpose of the OSYRBA shall be to encourage youth to learn and develop rabbit, cavy and individual leadership skills.
Article 4 Re-organization and Election
Sec. 1 The OSYRBA shall reorganize annually at the OSRBA Convention in May.
Sec. 2 A President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Area Directors and News Director shall be elected.
Sec. 3 The term of office shall be one year and commence the day after the OSRBA Convention.
Sec. 4 The election of officers shall be by secret ballot.
Sec. 5 Any member may nominate themselves for an office. Nomination is by self-nomination only.
Article 5 Officers and Directors
Sec. 1 Officers of the club shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Area Directors and other positions can be elected or appointed if there are willing and able youth.
Sec. 2 Officers must be able to correspond by e-mail and or phone.
Sec. 3 Directors and Officers shall write a report about their area three times a year and submit it to the Youth Director in a timely manner.
Sec. 4 Any officer not able to fulfill his duties will be removed by the Youth Director and replaced by vote by the club.
Sec. 5 All officers and Directors shall attend at least 75% of the meetings and activities throughout the year to remain in office.
Sec. 6 The duties of the officers are as follows:
President: The duties of the President shall be to preside over all meetings. It shall be his/her duty to see that rules and regulations are complied with and to develop an agenda for each meeting in advance.
Vice-President: Shall perform the duties of the president when the president is absent and serves as coordinator of all committees.
Secretary: Shall keep a record of all actions of the club, shall be responsible for all correspondence. Notes from last meeting shall be sent to all officers, directors, zone leaders and youth director within two weeks of a meeting. The Secretary shall also send a reminder email out to members of an upcoming meeting no less than two weeks before the meeting.
Treasurer: The Treasurer shall receive and dispense all money on direction of the Youth Director and keep an accurate record of all financial transactions. The Treasurer is also responsible for a detailed report at each meeting.
News Reporter: He or she shall be responsible for public relations.
Article 6 Committees
Sec. 1 The Executive Committee shall consist of the officers and directors and shall represent the OSYRBA between meetings.
Sec. 2 Special committees and chairpersons shall be appointed by the President as needed. The Vice President shall appoint the members of each committee.
Article 7 Meetings
Sec. 1 The Youth Director shall determine meeting dates.
Sec. 2 There will be an annual meeting for all members of the OSYRBA on Sat. after competitions at the OSRBA Convention. The Executive Board shall meet at 7:00 AM Sunday for training and organizational meeting.
Sec. 3 Roberts Rules of Order shall govern the meeting of the club.
Sec. 4 Order of Business for regular meeting shall be as follows:

5. Committee Reports
6. Correspondence
7. Unfinished business

Sec.5 All elections shall be determined by majority vote.
Article 9 Code of Conduct
Sec. 1 All members shall:
Sec. 2 Be courteous and respectful
Sec. 3 Be positive role models and exhibit good sportsmanship
Sec. 4 Perform duties in a responsible and timely manner.
Sec. 5 Accept supervision and support from leaders.
Article 10 Amendments
Sec. 1 The Constitution may be amended at any regular or special meeting of the OSYRBA by a 2/3 vote of the voting members present, if a written copy of the proposed amendment is sent to all voting members at least two weeks prior to such a meeting, or by a 4/5 vote of the voting members present if no such notice is given.
