John Borsick, Vice President
Hello everyone. let me introduce myself. My name is John Borsick and my wife Mindy, along with our dog Alex, reside on a farm just outside of North Fairfield. I am employed as a supervisor for the Ohio Department of Transportation. Currently, I am serving as president of both the Huron County Rabbit Breeders and the Rabbit Fanciers of North Central Ohio, in addition to serving as vice president for the Lorain Couinty Rabbit and Cavy Breeders.
For almost 20 years I have raised Holland Lops in Huron County. Perviously, I held the officers of President and director of the Ohio Holland Lop Rabbit Fanciers and was the Northwest Director for OSRBA. I have taken several Best in Show honors with my rabbits. But, the pride and joy of my barn has been Kathy. Kathy placed in the National Top Lop competition two years in a row.
If you show rabbits, you will see me as superintendent at a variety of rabbit shows including: the OSRBA Mini Convention both Saturday and Sunday, Huron County/RFONCO spring and fall shows, Lorain County show and the Sandusky Valley Show in Tiffin.
The fair is another thing I also enjoy; it is a great pleasure to see the youth, and especially those you have helped during the year, doing well at the fair. During the week fo the fair my home away from home is the rabbit barn at the Huron County Fair, since I serve as superintendent of the barn for open and youth (4-H / FFA) departments. In addition I conduct six rabbit clinics per year fo the 4-H of Huron County, and assist with the rabbit skill-a-thons in Huron and Lorain Counties.
Each year, during the fair season, I also judge rabbits and/or showmanship at about four or five country fairs.
For the past 26 years, during the fall, I have been a high school volleyball official refereeing three or four games per week. As the volleyball season ends, I also can be found at the sectional and districy games, in between rabbit shows.
Hope to see you at a show or fair soon.
